Evaluation of new email security appliance

Starting at the close of business on Tuesday, May 15, Computer Services will begin evaluating a new email security appliance. This new appliance will temporarily replace our current Mailgate solution. During the transition, you may notice slight delays in email. These delays should only last a few hours.

The evaluation will last approximately 30 days and is for the purpose of determining if the new system can improve the effectiveness of our email security filtering. We will post another announcement when the evaluation is over and we make the switch back to Mailgate.

During this evaluation, you will not receive the “Admin Junk Summary” emails you are accustomed to seeing from Mailgate, however the new system sends a similar email, but you may not receive them as often. These new emails will contain a link that will allow you to release good mail that might have been stopped by the filter. Old email that currently resides in Mailgate will still be available during this evaluation.

We will post more information as it comes available during the evaluation.
